6 months and counting

Today I'm 6 months pregnant. Compare. The time is flying right by. I haven't quite got a nursery put together yet, but we did get a crib. We've also maybe found a daycare, which is just down the road. So much to do and think about. I've been experiencing lots of kicking, which amazes me for such a tiny little person, perhaps weighing only a pound or two at this time. Sometimes I can even see my belly moving. Weird. The worst part of pregnancy at this point is giving up my favorite sleeping position: on my stomach. Now the little one is taking up that space and I don't want to squash it. Or turn it into a pancake, as Jer says. Anyway, it's almost happening too quickly. I still don't quite feel settled in our house, although we've been here for a month now. I still feel there's so much to do before I don't have the time to do it.

Wonderful picture. Also with the sleeping position thing, I don't know if you have read or heard from your doctor, but you should be trying sleeping on your left side. If you lay on your back you compress the vena cava (a large vein)and it reduces the flow of blood and nutrients to the fetus. When I was in labour with my son, they had me move onto my left side because his heart rate was dropping while on my back. As soon as I moved, it improved back to normal. It is just recommended that you try to sleep on your left though, I think when you are pregnant you are never too comfortable in any one position for long any way. ha ha.
