rain, rain, GO AWAY

Ugh, why can't we be moved already??!! I am so sick of waiting to sell this house. I really don't want to be moving several months from now when I'm looking like a balloon, waddling like a duck, and am really no help at all. I want to move now! So the main issue of the day is the fact that it's been raining for 3 days straight, and it doesn't show any sign of stopping until Friday. At first the basement seemed to be holding up okay. There was a little seepage last night. This morning: the flood. Water everywhere. We swept, mopped, dehumidified. But it's still coming in. This happens every year, and we do expect it. Eventually if it stops raining, it will dry up. But we have an open house in less than two hours. Not good. On top of that, we've begun a new water problem. Last night I noticed a dark spot forming on our bedroom ceiling. It looked wet. I went upstairs and found the carpet by the balcony door soaked. The door leaks, and water comes in. So this morning I shampood the area up there where the water left a yellow spot. And we have the fan going. But when I checked it a little while ago, the yellow spot seemed to come back, looking worse. And still wet. The only reason this seems to be coming up now, is because I removed the screen door from upstairs earlier this year. I honestly didn't think it was doing any good. It was a home-made door, it was wooden, the screen was slit down the middle, and it didn't fit the door frame. It was just sort of hanging there, serving no purpose. So I took it down, and didn't think anything of it until now. I'm thinking of repairing it, if possible. But I'm not sure what sort of shape it's in after I threw it over the balcony to the ground 3 floors below.
