city of ember

Over the summer, I picked up a book called "People of Sparks" at the library sale on Winsted's garage-sale day. It is the second book in a series, the sequel to "City of Ember." I looked it up online and found that a movie was made just last year based on the first book. So on Saturday, Jer and I watched it and we both really enjoyed it. It was a very good movie and I definitely recommend it. So at the end of the movie, I said, "I have to read that book." On Sunday, I went to Goodwill... No lie, one of the first books I saw when I glanced at the shelves... City of Ember. I looked down a few shelves, and also found the third book from the series. I love how Goodwill just reads my mind like that.

I love City of Ember- but I gave it away awhile back since I wasn't going to re-read it. I have the third book on my BookMooch wishlist, but the second book wasn't as good as the first book, and I lost interest in the series.

Goodwill has a tenancy to do that to us. Great movie and there might be an interest from me to read the books.

Really? Movies want to make you read a book? I usually find the movie to be a dumbed down version of the book (harry potter anyone?) that the movie totally ruins the book experience. I almost always read the book first, unless I have no desire to read the book.

If I movie can be that good the book has to be better right?

If I had watched the Harry Potter movie First, I would never had read the book, with maybe the exception of the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice. I had a hard time getting into to the book.
