Early saturday morning... began the long 8-hour trek to chicago. played "name that tune" to 90s music, and sang loudly. stopped at kohls in illinois to pick up my awesome new keds. met neal and holly at our hotel... hugs! tried to find pizzeria in downtown chicago. got lost. turned around and went to museum. took a walk in search of food, found a neat used bookstore. went to eat cheeseburgers in a greek restaurant, where we did not BYOB. went back to museum and got into the exhibit early. everyone had british accents. real? got officially sorted into ravenclaw by an actual sorting hat... like on my head... woo-hoo! neal a hufflepuff? exhibit was awesome awesome awesome. bought a $7 ravenclaw keychain. back to the hotel... crazy firework display on the way back from all around and everywhere. incredible. sunday morning breakfast at the hotel... belgian waffles! yum! target, bonsai shop, goodwill. got lost finding the next thrift store. chicago is a crazy place! then onto the oak park library for the live pottercast / whomping willows / remus lupins show. yesssss!!!!! lots of fun. the sound was kind of crap in the room, but the energy from those guys is amazing. rocking out for harry potter. nothing better. i danced my nerdy white girl dance, and loved it. there was a stormtrooper. bought a shirt. said hi to matt. left to find the pizzeria. drivers in chicago are extremely rude and all they do is honk! paid too much for parking. waited a long time to eat. the pizza was a little weird. we didn't like it. oh well. went back to the hotel. jumped on the bed. went to see the movie Up. cuteness. got up early monday and had a really long drive home. the end. Thanks Neal and Holly for joining us in an awesome Potter weekend! We had a lot of fun! We need to figure out another trip sometime. Camping?

We really should plan another get away. It was a ton of fun and I don't know how much Neal loved all of the Harry Potter goodness but I loved all of it!
I really wish we would've BYOBed. I mean...I at least wish we would've know, so we could've at least considered it. Oh well.
It was lots of fun though. Camping would be cool...as long as there was no rain.
And thanks for inviting us.
rain or bugs
