dirt under my fingernails... yuck!

I worked on this all day today. The finished result... not too bad for my first ever landscaping attempt. Seriously, I don't think I've dug a hole since I was eight, making traps in the backyard. Perhaps I should have taken a before shot. Basically, when we moved in, it started as a pond with a bunch of thorny, half-dead bushes, and some really huge rocks. The pond quickly became home to frogs, and several million mosquitoes. It had to go. Then, after the pond was dug out, it remained a large pit for a long time. Slowly, with much help from Freecylce, we got rid of all the landscaping rocks. And finally, today, we went to the nursery and picked out some decent looking shrubbery. Now, more dirt just needs filling in, and grass will be planted and we will have gained a couple more square feet of yard space. Woo-hoo!
