Introducing the newest Garbage Pail Kid: Hivey Ivy

Yesterday I took Ivy to the doc because she had some sort of blotchy, spotty rash all over her chest and stomach. Also, she has a few rough red patches behind her knees, one on her head, and one on her neck. Diagnosis: Infantile Eczema. He didn't say too much about it, that maybe the rash was because she was teething? Well, the more I've been reading about eczema in babies, the more stressed I'm becoming. Most of the time, it's caused by an allergy, and most likely a food allergy (from my milk). So, if that's the case, I will most likely need to eliminate dairy from my diet for a few weeks to see if there is any change. I'm not so sure I can do this. For one thing, CHOCOLATE is part of the dairy elimination list. And how could I give up cheese? No pizza? I'm not sure where to start. I think I'm going to make sure it isn't an allergy to soap first (although I'm sure it isn't). Luckily, the eczema isn't too bad and I can continue with the hydrocortizone cream for now. Being a mom is so much fun!

It could be fabric softener, it could be the soap that we wash her clothes in.

It could be a million things. I still don't know why I had it so bad for a few years, but it's gone now. I used to get really nasty gooey patches on my head that itched so bad, it kept me awake at night scratching. It's the pits. But with any luck, it won't be that big of a problem. Mom said something about lack of sun when I had it or something. Or the weather maybe. I'll stop now...
