pregnancy update

So speaking of running out of time, I’m nearing 7 and a half months, which means only 10 weeks to go! Now if you’re doing the math, yes that makes 10 months. It confused me at first too, but they actually set your due date 40 weeks from the first day of your last period. Anyway, the past 7 months have flown by unbelievably fast. I can’t believe we’re going to have a baby soon. It’s starting to get scary, but we’re preparing the best we can. I signed us up for a childbirth class in September, and I still need to make an appointment to visit the hospital. I hope the class is helpful, because thinking about giving birth at this point seems very overwhelming. I have no idea what I’m in for. Sure, you can hear about it from everyone, but you can’t really know until you go through it I suppose. As far as my pregnancy goes, I’ve really been enjoying it so far. I don’t think I’ve had it as bad as some people. I managed to avoid the whole morning sickness thing in the beginning, and I haven’t had any weird swelling or stretch marks or vericose veins, etc. The worst I’ve gone through was some round ligament pain, and the back pain. But it’s all to be expected. I can’t really complain. I wanted this so much, and I’m just happy to be going through it. I’m actually loving how I look right now. It might sound weird, but I really love having this round belly. My belly button has gotten pretty shallow, but still hasn’t popped out. I’m growing pretty big - I’ve actually gained 20 pounds so far, and I’m trying my best not to waddle when I walk. It seems each week I have to eliminate another shirt from my wearable wardrobe, and I’m pretty much limited to sweatpants. It’s also limited my ability to do some things. For instance, tying my shoes is a huge chore and clipping my toenails is practically impossible. But the good outweighs the bad. The kicking I feel every day is truly amazing. I enjoy feeling the baby move around and push and stretch. Even when it kicks my bladder (and other uncomfortable organs). And lately it’s been moving under my ribs, which is sort of uncomfortable, but oh well. It’s all been such a great experience and I’m just really really happy. Now I just need to tackle that nursery!

PS. We’re registered at Target! *hint, hint* Yes, I’m shameless.
