My Words are My Sperm

I was hoping Dead Man on Campus could be my first watch of 2006, but I really couldn't wait. I've owned the soundtrack to this movie since forever, and I've been wanting to purchase the DVD for some time. The problem is, it's slightly obscure (like most movies I like), and I had a difficult time finding it in any stores. (*cough* Best Buy sucks. *cough*) So anyway, I hadn't seen this movie for a long time, probably since it was first released waaaay back in 1998. (The year I graduated. Ugh, I'm old.) It definitely isn't the greatest movie in the world, and actually isn't the type of movie I would usually like. But I do like it for some reason. I guess I have a strange sense of humor. The storyline is unique, even if slightly stupid. And I always thought Zack from Saved By The Bell looked good with black hair and glasses.

The main characters, Josh and Cooper, are roomates at college and complete opposites. Josh is studying hard in a six-year medical program, while Cooper is a partyer/slacker. When Cooper's bad habits rub off on Josh, he realizes too late that he's failing his classes and is in danger of losing his scholarship. Cooper needs to pass as well, or he'll be kicked out of college and will have to work for his father's company, cleaning toilets. But they find out about a certain rule the school has that if a student's roomate commits suicide, that student will receive straight A's for the semester. So they set about finding the most depressed and suicidal students on campus, then enlist them as a third roomate. It's really quite funny. Several of the characters are just hilarious. It was fun to watch, and I recognized all the songs from the soundtrack, which of course fit perfectly with the movie.

So if anyone has any other thoughts on the movie, let's hear them!

Except for when you had traded it to me, and I owned it for awhile. Then at some point I had traded it back to you. I probably got the shitty end of the deal. Oh well.

Top notch movie though. Very, very, very choice. I will have to own this eventually as well.

Piss off!
