new obsession

Well, I burned through Twilight in about 3 days (that's fast for me). Of course it took several nights of staying up past 1am to do it. But could I put that book down? Nope. After Potter, these are my new favorite books. I'm about a quarter into the 2nd one now, and it drives me nuts that I have to interrupt my reading time with silly things like sleeping and working. Ugh. So seriously, if you haven't read these yet, DO IT.... NOW. Ok, that's all the time I have, I have to go read!! And did I mention a movie is coming out in December? Yeah. Super pumped. Go watch the trailer. Or perhaps wait until after you've read the book, because the trailer doesn't seem to do it justice.

I'm currently re-reading the Harry Potter series with some friends (I'm on book 4!) but since the final book in the Twilight series comes out in August, everyone at work wants me to read that. Also, the movie comes out on my birthday. Haha.

How do you feel about the actor that played Cedric playing Edward?

Hmm. I read Twilight - than promptly got rid of it. The main character drove me nuts! She had the personality of a rock! and was too stupid to care that someone spent endless nights doing nothing but watching her sleep, normal people would get angry. I have a copy of the second book that I started reading, and really have no intention of finishing it. If you want it, its yours - just send me an email.

Holly-
I think Cedric playing Edward works really well. I think he really looks the part from the photos I saw. He really does look "beautiful."

Carrie-
Thanks, but I already have it. And don't forget, it's fiction. And a LOVE story, jeesh. And actually, the main character reminded me a lot of myself in high school, so maybe I just connected.

I think my thing with the main character was that she was so wussy- I like my characters to do a bit more than obsess over a boy. I've read many romances that actually have a strong female character, so a love story does not necessarily mean that the character has to be boring :) but, overall the book was well written, the vampires were pretty cool, and I did get sucked into the story, but I highly disappointing that she didn't get a backbone by the end of the story, and that her and Edward ended as the boyfriend who gets everything, and the girlfriend who does everything he wants.

The best thing about books is that you can discuss them, and everybody has a different opinion :)

Oh - and if you liked this book, I suggest Tithe, by Holly Black. Its written in much the same style, but the main character does a bit more than moon over the love of her life (and yes, there is a love story).
