sleep, eat, vomit, sleep
This week has been amazing for my sleep. When I get home from work every night around 8:15, I start my routine of getting everything ready for the next day, then getting ready for bed, getting Ivy ready for bed, then I feed her around 9pm. After that, she's hopefully sleeping and goes to bed. It doesn't always work that way. So early this week we decided to try letting her cry herself to sleep sans pacifier. The first night I let her cry about 20 minutes, then got her up and fed her again. She went right to sleep after that. The second night, I let her cry about 20 minutes and she went to sleep on her own. The next night, she cried 10 minutes. Last night, I don't think she cried except for one little squawk when I put her in there. When I peeked on her, she was sucking her thumb. So amazingly, the sleep pattern changed as well. Last week she was getting up around midnight, then maybe once or twice more during the night. The first few nights this week, she didn't get up until 2 or 3am. Thursday night, she slept all night. I'm talking 9:30 pm to 7am! So when I got up yesterday, I was ready to explode of course. I got her up to feed her. She emptied the left, and I figured she was probably good to go, but I offered the right side anyway. They say a baby knows when she's full. Sure. So she ate a good amount on the right side, then stopped. So I sat her up, put her over the shoulder to burp her. She burped and then some. A good-sized meal came out of her and soaked me down to my underwear! Yum. So this morning I knew better when she slept all night again, and got up at 5am. I only fed her on one side, put her back to bed, then pumped the other. So anyway, I'm not sure if this sleeping all night thing is going to continue, but it feels darn good to sleep 7 hours in a row! Yay me!
