the Hunger Games

Last night I finished reading The Hunger Games (Thanks Carrie)!

In a country called Panem, one girl and one boy between the ages of 12 and 18 are chosen from each of 12 districts to compete in the annual Hunger Games. Basically, they are put in an arena and it's a fight to the death. Only one person can win. It's kind of morbid, but it's completely fascinating. I really really loved this book and I want everyone to read it!!! I thought it was amazing. The only thing I didn't realize is that it's the first in a trilogy, and the next one doesn't come out until September. So I'm kind of left hanging...

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I thought the ending was a bit rushed and short, but it is the first in the series. I'm actually a bit worried about the sequel - how can it be any better after the first book!

  2. I know, I was wondering how it was going to end because there weren't many pages left, and then it didn't end! So yeah, it seemed kind of rushed, but that was before I knew it was a trilogy. But I almost feel like it could have had a longer ending and been wrapped up better, and left at that. I really don't know how much farther the story can go. But I hope it's good!
